And Yes, I am moving, ever so slowly forward.

With the start of the new year comes a successful knee replacement. I am so stoked at the relief, and now able to manage pain, free of the heavy meds. So I am at work again. You don’t what you’ll miss in your own work until you can’t do anything but dream and sketch. This has been a vacation of sorts and allowed me time to see where we go from here. Forward. Always. And with the generosity of clients and art needs, I am working on a kinetic sculpture project for a couple in Healdsburg, an exhibition with Illustrative Voices in the South Bay and another Kennedy Center Collection celebrating the work of Alvin Ailey for their upcoming events in February.

The year is different in that we have all been in this place before, a sheltering in, ordering groceries and another slow down on activities. This time we know what to do: wear a mask, get vaccinated, booster, distance, less interactions. Winter isn’t over yet. I’m lucky to have a comfy chair in the backyard, to enjoy the warm days of January in Northern California, healing light and air.
