Ahhh, Summer

It’s been a very interesting year, I’ve been downsizing since November and it seems like it will never end but, there’s light, flowers everywhere, popcicles, and the awesome World Cup.

I’m sure you’ve noticed a slow down in my artwork production. This has been a long ride a year of strangeness and grief. And yet I am so blessed: Love notes and purchases from all of you, plus my family and friends seem to rally around at just the right times.

Last weekend, I was really honored to be part of the Rena Charles Gallery show at the Healdsburg Jazz Festival. We had mild weather and fantastic music in the park. It was so great to see lots of Healdsburg friends and to spend the day with Rena Charles and my French brother Franck.

I find that there are weeks that it is impossible to move forward, and yet today I did post new earring designs on the website, did a bit of yardwork, some grocery shopping and time for this short note.

I’ve loved watching the World Cup this year. The camaraderie and cheering for teams from other countries. I love that cities went all out for the international teams playing. There is a grace, a love of sport, and the honor and humanity served up to these players from all over the world. I’m sure it’s the first time most of them have had barbecue from Texas, or seen the sites of Mexico. I think it’s who we really are, about love that always wins, and sometimes we get to watch it happen worldwide.

Happy Summer and much love, Denise
