2023, it's just around the corner. Are ya ready?

The holiday season is in full flower, I got my family gifts mailed today, and I am just finishing the xmas cards now. It was a busy time and more projects than usual but I did take some time to get rested and ready to see where 2023 will go.

Do you use a calendar planner? I spend a silly amount of time finding a book for the year to get all the details on something besides paper scraps and found one at the local Copperfields Books. In a past life, I was a scheduler at a video facility many moons ago. Planning and planned ideas are my madness.
I have another fabulous Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts project, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is returning to the Kennedy and so will my new collection of dancers earrings to their gift shop. When this is in production, I’ll sneak a preview here.

What are your plans for the new year? I’m curious if you like to let it unfold or is it scheduled already. I am booked for some dates to usher back at SF Jazz Center in January. I have had some claustrophobia issues since covid started and they are beginning to get better. I ushered a play at Marin Theatre Co, August Wilson’s play, TWO TRAINS RUNNIN in December. With each week, I try something new to get back to myself.

Petaluma Blacks For Community Development is hosting a number of great events in February and March 2023. I will update the schedule as soon as the final adjustments are made.

Yep, scheduling the life I want to live, a lot of art, a bunch of gardening and some time to breathe. A perfect year ahead. Just gotta watch for that “flying smut” as my father in law would say. Glad to have made it this far!

Best wishes for you, to be happy as you can, to do things you could and be ok with the things you didn’t do, to be brave, strong and true. Love you~ Denise
