Migration

Migration

$350.00

It was known as “The Great Migration”, when six million African Americans left the South between 1910-1970. Jim Crow laws, unending violence, injustice, and the continued debt slavery of the land. My great grandfather was a cotton grower, no chance of ever owning the land he worked for his entire life, or the house his family lived in.

We have changed and yet not changed, the migration continues. To better ourselves, to feed our families, to find work, a home, a place to belong. Always moving: to find security, justice, dignity, love and happiness.
