Queen Shanakdakhete is recorded as one of the earliest known rulers of the Kush Kingdom, once centered in Meroe, north of Kabūshīyah in present-day Sudan; Meroe is also the name of the area surrounding the city. Her pyramid is one of the largest buity by the kings of Kush.
