Adults/ Session 1 February 17, “5000 Year Old Bracelet”: Wire Bracelet Design A simple and elegant wire-formed bracelet is inspired by ancient designs and will be a joy to wear. Made of brass wire, students form the links to make this unique bracelet. All tools and materials provided.
Adults/ Session 2: March 24, “Egyptian Rings and Bracelets” The original amazing ancient rings are on view at The Louvre in Paris and the Met in New York. The easy designs for these rings are beautiful and made to measure. Students will cut, file, sand and size metals, select stones and create beautiful rings. The bracelets in copper are stamped with decorative designs. All tools and materials are provided.
Adults/ Session 3: April 14, “Color Pencil on Metal”: Pendants and Earrings A beautiful new way to color metal, color pencil designs on metal. Students will design a pendant and earrings using art tools: gesso, fixatives and color pencils. Students will also get elementary jewelry design instruction on earrings, working jewelry tools and materials to design new art in the smallest of forms. Tools and materials are provided.
Adults/ Session 4: May 19, “Metal Tag Jewelry”: Earrings Saving the best for last in the jewelry classes, Metal Tag Jewelry uses all the fundamentals of jewelry making. Students create earrings and bracelets in metals. Using all the fun tools from a jewelry bench, students will file, sand and stamp designs in metals. Oh, the earrings you’ll create! Tools and materials provided.
All tools and materials supplied, and a light vegetarian lunch is included.
